Nabi faced South African media for the first time in Naturena on Friday since he was announced as Amakhosi’s head coach.

The Tunisian tactician has been entrusted with awakening the sleeping giants.

Nabi, 58, joins the club when they are at their lowest, having gone for almost a decade without winning a silverware.

“Looking at the name Kaizer Chiefs and how big the club is in South Africa, it’s most definitely unacceptable for the club not to have a title in nine years,” Nabi told the media.

“Especially, since the club has the biggest fan base, and they are a big brand not only in South Africa but in Africa in general.

“The place where the club is supposed to be and how big the club is, and especially not having a title in a long time, is what made me want to come here and challenge myself.

“I need to put the club back where it’s supposed to be. We need a real strategy to put the club back to where it is supposed to be.”
