FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live)—On Monday, Thane Solberg, Chair of the Fargo-Moorhead Pride group, released a statement regarding a stabbing that occurred in downtown Fargo shortly after the Pride Parade concluded. According to Solberg, a man attacked multiple people with a knife on Sunday, August 11, following the annual Pride Parade in downtown Fargo. One of the injured, according to Solberg, is a volunteer for FM Pride, who assisted in organizing the parade.
Authorities say they were summoned to the intersection of Broadway and 4th Ave. N. on Sunday just after 3:30 due to a reported medical emergency. Two people were found with stab wounds, according to the police. With no fixed residence, 35-year-old Michael Hurteau was charged with two charges of attempted murder and taken into the Cass County Jail.
Solberg declares, “We will not speculate on the attacker’s motivation or any other details regarding this incident.” “We are confident that the inquiry will present a complete picture of the events that preceded and took place during the incident,” Solberg continued.
