SAD NEWS: Former Kentucky Coach John Calipari Sadly Kick The Bucket At Age Of @56…..

Malachi Moreno, a four-star recruit, committed to the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday, marking the first commitment in Mark Pope’s 2025 freshmen recruiting class and the first top-25 prospect of his coaching tenure.

Situated only 15 miles from his high school, Moreno chose UK over a final list that included the Arkansas Razorbacks, former Kentucky head coach John Calipari’s team, Louisville, Notre Dame, Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina, and Ohio State.

As far back as I can remember, Moreno told Travis Branham of 247sports, “it’s been a dream school of mine.” It seemed appropriate for Kentucky because of the coaching staff, play style, and location. It seemed as though God was guiding me.

In addition to the two exhibition games, UK also revealed this week that the annual Blue-White Game will take place on October 18 at the recently refurbished Memorial Coliseum, and Big Blue Madness will take place on October 11 in Rupp. The Kentucky women’s basketball team, who are starting their first season under new head coach Kenny Brooks, will also participate in both of those competitions. Tickets for Madness and the yearly scrimmage are still unavailable.
