fds2024 is Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle’s seventh season of college football and second with the Wolverines.

With J.J. McCarthy now in the NFL Michigan’s starting quarterback position is up for grabs heading into the season. After backing up J.J. McCarthy last season, Tuttle will be vying to be Michigan’s QB1 this time around.

The story so far

Tuttle was a four-star prospect out of San Marcos, CA in the class of 2018. Tuttle was ranked as the No. 8 pro-style QB by 247 Sports. Tuttle started his collegiate career with Utah but never saw game action and ultimately transferred to IU.

Tuttle’s four-year career at IU featured 182 passing attempts, a completion percentage of 57.1 with 901 passing yards, five touchdowns, and six interceptions. Tuttle backed up Michael Penix Jr. before Penix transferred to Washington and was named a team captain in 2022. Tuttle went on to transfer to Michigan for the 2023 season and would become the backup quarterback.

Tuttle fared well for Michigan in limited action last year, completing 15-of-17 pass attempts for 130 yards with one passing touchdown and 35 rushing yards. This offseason the NCAA approved Tuttle’s waiver for another year of eligibility.
