BREAKING NEWS: “Please Don’t Sell Him, He Is The New Harry Kane” Arteta informs 21-year-old academy graduate he would be sold after Arsenal received a £27 million bid from UCL rival.
Arsenal is in urgent need of a prolific striker to boost their goal-scoring tally for the upcoming season. The club is exploring the market for talents like Viktor Gyökeres, Victor Osimhen, Benjamin Šeško, Ivan Toney, and Joshua Zirkzee. However, they might be searching for a solution in the wrong places.
Within their ranks, Arsenal has a striker with potential comparable to Harry Kane, yet the club’s hierarchy is looking to offload him.
Mika Biereth, a Denmark youth international, is the player in question. According to Sturm Graz sporting director Andreas Schicker, Arsenal wants to sell Biereth this summer as he is in the final year of his contract.
Biereth spent the latter half of the 2023-24 season on loan in the Austrian Bundesliga with Sturm Graz, where he impressed by scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 22 appearances. Before this, he played in the Scottish Premiership with Motherwell, recording six goals and five assists in 15 games.
Despite his impressive performances, Biereth does not feature in Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s plans for the next season, leading to the decision to sell him. Schicker mentioned, “Mika is in the last year of his contract, the club wants to sell him. Now we need to find a solution with Arsenal.”
Biereth, who joined Arsenal from Fulham in July 2021 after scoring 21 goals in 21 games for Fulham’s under-18s, has yet to make his first-team debut and is unlikely to do so.
He wishes to join Sturm Graz, hoping that continued impressive performances could secure him a significant move in the future. Although Championship club Sheffield Wednesday is also interested in Biereth, a move to the Austrian Bundesliga champions seems more appealing due to the opportunity to play European football.
Biereth has recently described himself as a lower-version hybrid of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, expressing his dream of scoring regularly for Arsenal.
He was named in the matchday squad four times during his debut season but has spent the last two seasons on loan at three different clubs. Now, he hopes to secure a permanent move away from North London to establish his career.
