Valentina is formally crowned the Princess of SELA in a Pride ceremony……
RuPaul in her quest for a more genuine identity. The 33-year-old performer made every effort to keep her identity apart from her Bell, California, residence.
However, the former presenter of “Drag Race: Mexico” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alumna was proclaimed the official Princess of SELA (southeast Los Angeles) on Saturday while she performed on stage at Downey’s Pride Festival. For Valentina, clad in a tiara, sparkly thong, and revealing dress, it was the welcome home that her younger self had always found difficult to see.
“I’m very proud of being born and raised in Los Angeles, and I’m really embracing it now,” Valentina remarked. It’s a huge honor and responsibility to be the Princess of SELA. I’ve been able to accept my identity as a California girl and found community thanks to this homecoming.
