“I dream of returning to Barça, but not with this president (Laporta). He doesn’t respect players.”- Former Barcelona star confirms he won’t return as long as Joan Laporta is president after Hansi Flick tries to sign him as free agent
A former manager and player for Barcelona, the dominant team in La Liga, made headlines on Friday with his most recent remarks on the team.
This follows his declaration that he has no intention of returning in any capacity to the Camp Nou as long as Joan Laporta is in charge.
It is Ronald Koeman who is the person in question.
For his part, tactician Koeman spent the bulk of 2020 and 2021 as a bench warmer at Barcelona.
But in the end, because of a less-than-satisfactory start to the 2021/22 campaign, the Dutchman was sent on his way by none other than the previously mentioned Joan Laporta.
Furthermore, it appears from Koeman’s most recent remarks that he has never really been able to forgive the Blaugrana’s president.
Asking him if he would contemplate going back to Catalunya’s capital one day, the former Barcelona defender—who is presently in charge of the Netherlands—spoke to the press on Friday.
Furthermore, Koeman acknowledged that this would represent a “dream” for him personally.
But if Laporta continues to run things at Camp Nou, he wouldn’t even entertain the possibility of taking such a route:
“I want to go back to Barça, but not with this president Laporta.” Legends have no regard for him.
