Rivaldo calls on Barcelona to sign this striker in order to lead the team’s attack next season
Rivaldo, the legend of the Spanish team Barcelona, asked the management of the Catalan club to sign a replacement for Polish international Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona striker.
The 35-year-old player has been linked with a move to the Saudi League this summer, as he has a contract with the Catalan club until June 2026.
Rivaldo told the Spanish newspaper “Sport”: “Barcelona must start thinking about an alternative to Lewandowski because the player has become old and has lost the decisive factor that distinguished him with Bayern Munich.”
He continued: “A team like Barcelona must play with the best in the world, and this also means monitoring the best players in the transfer market in all positions.”
He continued: “Lewandowski is a world-class star, that is what he is, but we know that sometimes aging and injuries can take their toll, and therefore I ask the Barcelona administration to sign a world-class striker to lead the team’s attack next season.”
He continued: “I think that Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez will be more than wonderful for German coach Hansi Flick because the player is fast and possesses skill and strength in addition to decisiveness in front of goal. Therefore, the success of Barcelona’s season is linked to signing this player and keeping Lewandowski on the bench.”
Regarding the Blaugrana’s interest in signing Neco Williams: “It will be a great deal. Barcelona should pay attention to him during Euro 2024, and depending on his performance, perhaps they will later have more competition to include him, but he seems like a great option to me.”
